Child Safety Seat Inspections

Did you know… Auto crashes are the leading cause of injury and death for children. Almost half of US children are not using the right restraint for their age and size... Or are not using a child restraint at all! New York State requires the use of child safety seats, and you cannot leave the hospital after delivery without a child safety seat.

FHN’s certified safety technicians teach parents and family members how to use the proper car seat for maximum safety for their child, and how to properly install it in their vehicle. Car seats can be provided to qualifying families on a sliding scale fee. Currently this program is based out of FHN’s Cortland office by appointment only; however, beginning in 2008, FHN plans to expand this program by traveling to FHN’s rural sites to host inspection stations throughout the year. Assistance

We can help you enroll in other programs for low-income patients, such as Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid for Adults. Call our Facilitated Enroller at (607) 662-0381.
